Netflix released a documentary in June telling the story of the American cult "FLDS". "FLDS" (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) is an extreme offshoot of the Mormon Church that supports polygamy. This denomination was founded by Rulon Jeffs in 1986 based on the content of the Mormon faith. Rulon Jeffs aims to restore "polygamy", which was banned by Mormonism years ago.
He came from a Mormon family, and his father old picture restoration secretly practiced "polygamy" and married several women at the same time. Rulon Jeffs allegedly had 65 wives and 65 children when he died at the age of 92. In 2002, the denomination was succeeded by son Warren Jeffs. Warren Jeffs, a self-proclaimed prophet, claimed to be possessed by his father's soul and used means to replace Rulon's position in the FLDS.
Different from Rulon's relatively low-key management style, Warren Jeffs advocates: "The more wives, the more children, the higher the heaven." He therefore married a total of 78 wives, of which 24 wives were minors. He also married almost all of his father's widows (except two of them) and had 60 children. As for the management of the sect, he also intensified, using means to win people's hearts, and in the name of establishing "Zion (the heaven within the doctrine)", he wantonly squeezed believers and collected money for himself to squander.
